Pittsburgh, PA – July 4, 2025
The smoke is already rising from the steel mills. And now, so is the sound. With just nine weeks left before kickoff, Wiz Khalifa — Pittsburgh’s own — is back with another anthem that has the whole city bouncing to the beat of black and gold.
Titled “Still Black, Still Gold”, the new track is a hard-hitting follow-up to his iconic 2010 hit “Black and Yellow”, a song that became the unofficial soundtrack to the Steelers’ Super Bowl XLV run. But this time, it’s not just a banger — it’s a call to arms.
"From the rivers to the rooftops, we still wear it bold,
Still black, still gold, still hearts never cold.
No flash, no fame — just grit in our soul,
Steelers stand tall, six rings in the fold."
That’s the opening verse — and it hits like a Cam Heyward sack in December.
Wiz teased the track earlier this week with a quiet photo at Acrisure Stadium. Just him, midfield, black hoodie up, captioned only: “Still.” Fans knew. And now, they’re right.
Steelers players from T.J. Watt to George Pickens have already shared the track on their stories. Coach Mike Tomlin? Sources say he played it over the locker room speakers after minicamp. “This is Pittsburgh,” one player reportedly said, “raw and real.”
Wiz isn’t doing this for streams. He’s doing it for home. For the city that raised him. For the legacy that never fades.
“We don’t switch colors. We don’t change seasons. We stay black and gold — always,” he said in a short clip released alongside the track.
Whether you’re waving a Terrible Towel at the 50-yard line or nodding your head from a shop in South Side, this song isn’t just hype. It’s heritage.
