Baltimore, MD – June 22, 2025
The Baltimore Ravens aren’t exactly short on wide receivers, but there’s growing buzz around a new name eager to fight for a spot in their already deep arsenal. Once hailed as a college football sensation for his explosive ability after the catch, this former third-rounder believes Baltimore is the perfect place to resurrect his career—and chase something far bigger.
That player is Malachi Corley, famously known as the “YAC King” after racking up an NCAA-best 975 yards after catch during his breakout 2022 season at Western Kentucky. Corley posted 1,293 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns that year, capturing the attention of NFL scouts with his Deebo Samuel-esque style. But after being drafted by the New York Jets in 2024, things didn’t go as planned. According to ESPN, Corley recorded only 3 catches in 16 games and spent much of his rookie season sidelined by injury. “He won’t win any crowns from the sideline,” one ESPN analyst noted bluntly.
Now, as the Jets move in a new direction and trim their roster, Corley has his sights set on Baltimore—a team known for its culture, its toughness, and its hunt for legacy.
“I want to be part of something real. In Baltimore, it’s not just about football—it’s about legacy,” Corley said in a recent ESPN feature. “Put me next to Zay and Bateman, and just watch. I want that ring.”
With DeAndre Hopkins likely on a short-term deal and no clear WR3 locked in, the Ravens may have room to take a low-risk, high-upside swing. Corley’s blend of toughness, YAC ability, and chip-on-the-shoulder mentality could make him an ideal fit in Todd Monken’s system—and a fan favorite in the making.
If the Ravens pull the trigger, “YAC King” might just become Charm City’s next breakout story.
