Jalen Reagor’s OTA Blunder Sparks Fan Backlash — Déjà Vu for Eagles Fans

Los Angeles, CA – May 29, 2025
The name Jalen Reagor still stings for many Philadelphia Eagles fans — and now it seems Chargers fans are beginning to feel the same. After bouncing between teams since his departure from Philly, the former first-round pick is once again in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Reagor, now with the Los Angeles Chargers, kicked off his Organized Team Activities (OTAs) with a costly mistake: dropping a pass from quarterback Justin Herbert that was promptly intercepted by a defender. ESPN’s Kris Rhim reported the incident, and it didn’t take long for social media to erupt.

“It’s like he never left Philly,” one Chargers fan commented online, echoing the frustrations Eagles fans expressed years earlier.

This isn’t unfamiliar territory for Reagor. Drafted 21st overall by the Eagles in 2020 — one spot ahead of All-Pro Justin Jefferson — the former TCU star was plagued by inconsistency and drops throughout his time in Philadelphia. He had five official drops in just two seasons before being traded to the Minnesota Vikings in 2022.

After brief stints with the Vikings and the New England Patriots, Reagor landed with the Chargers late in the 2023 season and signed a one-year deal this offseason. Despite the opportunity, he’s still facing stiff competition in a loaded wide receiver room that includes Quentin Johnston, Ladd McConkey, Mike Williams, and promising rookies Tre Harris and KeAndre Lambert-Smith.

Reagor’s stats in 2024 were modest — seven catches for 100 yards across eight games — and he played just 28% of the offensive snaps. Yet, LA re-signed him with hopes of unlocking some of his untapped potential. But moments like Wednesday’s drop could quickly jeopardize that hope.

Still, Reagor remains in the NFL — no small feat considering his turbulent journey. He’s shown flashes of athleticism and return-game value, but as OTAs continue, the spotlight — and pressure — only intensifies.

For Eagles fans, the narrative is all too familiar. And for Chargers fans, the question now looms: will Reagor rise, or will history repeat itself?

“At this point, it’s not about talent — it’s about trust,” one NFL analyst remarked. “And drops like this chip away at it fast.”
