Jalen Ramsey to Philly? The Trade That Could Rock the NFC

Philadelphia, PA – May 27, 2025

In a conference already on edge after the Eagles' Super Bowl triumph, the possibility of Jalen Ramsey joining Philadelphia isn’t just noise — it’s seismic. The seven-time Pro Bowler is reportedly on the trading block, and Howie Roseman has the draft capital and boldness to make it happen.

According to CBS Sports’ Brad Crawford, the fit is obvious. “Adding a seven-time Pro Bowler to a locker room coming off a Super Bowl title is a no-brainer for Howie Roseman if the details work out,” he wrote. With Darius Slay gone and C.J. Gardner-Johnson traded to Houston, Philadelphia’s secondary is talented but green — and Ramsey would instantly become its veteran anchor.

Imagine a defensive backfield featuring Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, and Ramsey. That’s a mix of elite youth, high football IQ, and playoff battle scars. While Kelee Ringo has potential, Ramsey’s arrival would allow the Eagles to buy time for development — and intimidate opposing quarterbacks from Day One.

In his nine-year career, Ramsey has 24 interceptions, a career completion rate allowed of just 58.4%, and All-Pro nods with three different franchises. Even in a physical league, that résumé commands respect.

Of course, there’s the financial piece. Ramsey’s current contract stretches to 2028 and includes cap hits ranging from $25 million to $36 million annually. It’s no small ask. But if anyone knows how to structure a deal without sacrificing the future, it’s Roseman. “It would be silly for Roseman not to at least pick up the phone,” Crawford added.

The Eagles hold nine draft picks in 2026 and wouldn’t have to part with a first-rounder to make the deal realistic. And if they believe they’re on the verge of building a dynasty, Ramsey might be the final piece — the veteran closer in a young, dangerous secondary.

For now, it’s just speculation. But in Philadelphia, where ambition and aggression drive the front office, don’t be surprised if this headline becomes reality. And when it does, the rest of the NFC better brace for impact.
