BREAKING: Ravens Former 2nd Round Pick Officially on the Trade Block After Disappointing Run

Baltimore, MD – August 9, 2025

Some draft picks arrive with all the promise in the world — raw talent, athletic gifts, and the kind of backstory that makes fans believe they’re watching the next great Ravens defender. But sometimes, promise doesn’t turn into production, and the clock starts ticking.

Training camp has brought no shortage of position battles, but one decision looming over the front office isn’t about who’s starting — it’s about whether a once-highly-touted investment still belongs in Baltimore at all. The roster is deep, the expectations are high, and patience has a limit.

The player in question was a second-round pick just three years ago, drafted despite a serious injury because the Ravens believed his ceiling was worth the wait. Since then, his career has been defined more by rehab schedules than sack celebrations, with depth-chart competition growing stronger each year.

That player is David Ojabo, who has managed just four sacks and 16 tackles in three seasons. His flashes have been real, but fleeting — and with veterans like Kyle Van Noy and Odafe Oweh leading the edge group, plus rookie Mike Green impressing early, his snaps are no longer guaranteed.

According to Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox, the Ravens could save roughly $1.8 million in cap space by moving Ojabo now, while also recouping a late-round pick. For a team built to contend, that flexibility might be more valuable than holding onto a player who hasn’t found his stride.

Trading him wouldn’t be a blockbuster, but it would be a statement: Baltimore values production over potential, and roster spots in this city are earned, not promised.

“At some point, it’s not about what you could be — it’s about what you’ve been. And in this league, the window to prove it is small,” one AFC scout noted.

Whether it happens this month or before the deadline, the writing feels clear. For David Ojabo, the next chapter might be written in a different uniform — and for the Ravens, it could be one more cold-blooded decision in pursuit of a championship.
